I was a physically active kid involved in a lot of sports. At adolescence I was diagnosed with scoliosis, developed Epstein-Barre and developed significant sinus and GI issues. At 16 I had surgery to correct my scoliosis by fusing a large portion of my spine, at 17 had my adenoids removed. In retrospect, those events were the catalyst for my interest in sourcing methods outside of allopathic medicine in all areas of my life. When our 2 daughters were born, my husband and I found this need for preventative and non-conventional medicinal solutions grow exponentially. With personal study and the guidance of an amazing pediatrician, we continue to seek and source methods of how to keep our family healthy and thriving naturally. Essential oils have become a key component of this lifestyle. And because health and wellness is, of course communal, it is a true joy to share the power of oils with friends and family.

I am a Founding Member of Samamkaya Yoga, the only cooperatively owned studio of Yoga Therapists who specialize in yoga for scoliosis, spinal fusions and general back care. I trained in the Iyengar method and am eternally grateful to have studied directly with Guruji BKS Iyengar in India in 2008, before his passing. In 2005 I was one of the first 30 people ever to graduate with a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania where I studied the constructs of well-being and meaning in life. Most importantly I'm lucky to be the mom of Joanna Moon and Florence Mira.

I love the grounding effects of YL's vetiver on my wrists & temples.
